Preferred Mode of Communication Survey
Dear Komarek Families:
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year. I am thoroughly excited to greet your children next week. As your new superintendent, it is extremely important for me to develop strong, positive relationships with you and your children. I believe that effective relationships are grounded in valued, consistent communication practices. Therefore, it is critical for me to better understand how you prefer to receive district-wide communication. Please take a few minutes to complete a very brief communication survey. The link to the survey is listed below
In an effort to enhance our communication practices, we recently launched a Komarek Facebook page. Please visit us at:
I’m looking forward to a great year together.

A Letter from the Superintendent
Dear Komarek Families:
I am honored and proud to be part of a community anchored in a rich, proud tradition. As we develop and enhance programming to meet the needs of our ever-changing global society, we will do so in a way that honors Komarek’s unique past.
The staff at Komarek is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of students. We are passionate about instruction and provide quality education for children in our community. Our goal is to have each child be a critical thinker and problem solver, while understanding and appreciating other perspectives and cultures. Every child who walks through our doors will feel secure, supported and celebrated for who they are.
My “door is always open”, and I encourage all stakeholders to share their thoughts and ideas. In order to make effective, child-centered decisions and continue to develop a high-performing school system, we must engage in honest and open communication. Our best will be achieved when we work together. I look forward to building a strong partnership with you and our community to ensure the highest-level of support for our students’ academic, social and emotional growth.
Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this important work. I look forward to the 2015-2016 school year and beyond.
Dr. Brian J. Ganan, Ed.D.

Did you know if your child forgets to bring home his textbook or a workbook for a homework assignment, that there is a copy at the North Riverside Library that he or she can use a as a reference book or simply copy the problems and questions and take them home to work on?
To conserve natural resources and funds, we will no longer distribute a copy of the Principal Newsletter to every student. The newsletter will continue to be posted on the Komarek School District 94 website each month and copies will be available in both offices.
